Fuselage construction continued
Ahoy
Starting to look like a F-5 now still turning to on the fuselage unit completed the turtle deck behind the cockpit. The kit gives you an option either with full cockpit details or just use the printed canopy if you elect to use the printed canopy former 1 1 and 1 have to be glued in place top form the canopy assembly. If not formers of same don't use you can add your pilots compartments assembly. The fit of parts are not bad some fortmers are a tad small so you if you run into this problem re make the formers to fit the skins using the kit formers as a template to trace over. wing spar is in position the tail spar is inplace, The inside filler piece is glued together and placed inside the fin skin to give it added strength the fin has been assembled. now letting the entire unit dry when glue is dried time to do some burnishing I have the fuselage pretty well smoothed out. Here are the update build pix for today guys. again much appreciated Strato Art who gave me the kit at the convention. Boats

OK, so watching this build makes me actually want to build a jet aircraft. If the desire holds out, maybe my next build will be one after the Belleau Wood is done...Or maybe I'll build a truck.
Seriously, though, this build is coming along very nicely! greg

Fuselage finished
Ahoy
thanks everyone for your views and comments the build is going together very well should have this wrapped up by this Monday Maybe sunday. There are a couple of fit issues here and there you got to work around them trim here and there until the fit is achieved. got the intake fairings all installed next will be the Stabilizers and wings the rest will follow a nice kit don't like the former against former construction they leave a lot of gaps at times to remedy this make certain the ajason former is sanded mirror imaged the same. letting the unit dry for the night burnish again tomorrow when the glues is hard and dried. Here are the pictures for today. boats

Wings and tail feathers
Ahoy Model wrights
Here is another update build report for today, I have her wings and tail feathers on so she can fly these assemblies are very simple as per pictured The inside of the wings there is a folded filler piece that slides inside the wing to fill in the flimsiness. The Stabilizers are very simple the filler piece is card board glued with wooden dowel this functional as per pictured here. The rest of the build will go quick the hard part of the model is done there are fit issued in this kit so you have to dry fit before applying the glue. Still burnishing here and there to smooth out the formers I hate these back to back former construction its tricky to get the both formers to look the same all by eye I guess. Okay here is the update for today guys. Boats
