Orlik Fokker Triplane 1/33rd
All,
I'm starting another little model from another manufacturer I have not used before. The kit looks nice and well detailed. I'm just not a fan of the color scheme so I'm going to do a repaint with the ol' airbrush. I've wanted to make this iconic fighter for a long time to go with my other WWI fighters so I'm chuffed. I'll start soon...Dan |

I agree with your assessment -- so many interesting triplane liveries the designer could have chosen from! I'll be interested to see how yours turns out.

It looks like a very detailed kit. I look forward to seeing you apply your talents to this one.

Not every Fokker Tri plane was red colored. But I am sure there are many schemes for this Fokker
Here is one at the US Air Force museum for your consideration Isaac

Yes, looking forward to it. This is one of the planes that hooked me into modeling. First the Bagged Red Airfix, then the Burgundy Aurora!

Thanks for the interest, folks! Today I embossed the rib tapes and started cutting out the fuselage formers and internals after backing some parts on 1/32nd balsa. Lots more to go but so far so good...

Good choice of model Dan. Interesting aircraft. Orlik is quite good actually, I built their Mosquito and Hawker Hurricane in desert camo. Fit is very good and the level of detail well enough, although not as detailed as Halinski (you can't beat those in any way....).
Good luck with this one, Erik |

Thanks, Erik...So far, I'm liking the detail and it will make a neat little model!
I started some more innards today: the beginning of the control column and the seat. I need to add some shoulder harnesses that are not supplied and the control wires need to be added. I also need to add triggers and the wooden grips on the joy stick. Sure will look cool when done. Cheers, Dan |
