John

Check out this U Tube video taken at the restoration hanger a year or so ago where the Memphis Belle ( almost at the end of the video ) is shown prior to restoration.

Smile Memphis Belle unveiling

I attended the Memphis Belle new exhibit at the Air Force Museum in which the Aluminum overcast and other aircraft participated in overflights and static display at the museum runway.

Here is a link to my photos of that event

and some more of the Aluminum overcast ( pic taken two days ago in the morning ) . It is here for the whole weekend next door. If the rain ever stops, it will fly overhead.

Thanks so much for posting that. I saw her as a derelict many years ago on "Mud Island". It is a real relief to see her back in all her glory.

I live next to a local airport south of Dayton, Ohio USA. This B-17 is here for the week and is giving rides ( for a fee ). So it has flown many times overhead.

I also went to the runway approach end and snapped these pictures as the plan came in for a landing.

When I lived in downtown Toronto last year, we had an Avro Lancaster fly overhead during the weekends.
