Talking Boeing F4B-4 in 1:100

Boeing F4B-4 Paper from der Kampfflieger 1:48 reduced to 1:100

The next time you walk down one of those long tunnels to jam yerself between two big chunks of humanity in a Boeing 787 you need to remember this little guy and his siblings. In the early 1920’s William Boeing’s company designed the first of a loonnnggg line of aerioplanes that have shaped the world we live in. The F4B and the P-12 were the mainstay of the US Navy and US Army through most of the 30's. After these guys was the 247 airliner one of the prettiest aircraft of its day. Then the mighty B-17 which was completely outclassed by the B-29. When the Red Scare came along Boeing stepped up with the B-47 and then blew its doors away with the B-52 which still flies to this very day. When the 707 arrived the transportation revolution that we all now “enjoy” (note quotes) arrived. The 707 was followed by a succession of numbers that I can’t begin to recount here.

The is the 1:48 F4B-4 from my good friend Roman Vasilyev who now designs 3D models because he has sold his sole to his wallet. It is sort of a tribute to my new found friend on this forum who goes by the name Rata. He apparently is just one step ahead of the law so he uses this alias.

This kit requires some very careful thought to construct because you have to add your own joiners, etc. This is not a big deal for anyone with a little experience. If I can do it anyone (well mebbe not Rata) can. I cut these out into sub groups to make it easier to work thru. I glue the red numbered pieces onto Bristol board. All the while you have to be thinking and planning your next steps.

Stuck in limbo at the moment. Had to get a new laptop for SWMBO. Got it all loaded and the hard drive failed. Just today got it almost done. Once I get out of jail for beatin' up some Asus reps I will get back on it.

Reckon you might have a breach of the Geneva Convention there sport- sounds like a clear-cut prisoner torture charge to me.
