Thanks, Rata...just don't look too close! I hope my Italian job plays out a bit neater if not completely Ricardo-esque!

Thanks, Ricardo. Much appreciated! I got a little busy with my son graduating from high school etc. but tonight, I put the bottom wing on and fitted the top wing as well with the interplane struts. As usual, they have a thin wire inner part with a paper sleeve. Looks the part when done!

Now it's on to the cabanes tomorrow and maybe the landing gear and tail skid next. We'll see what Father's Day brings! ;D Hopefully a model or two!! Happy Father's Day to all....

Cheers,
Dan

Thanks a lot, fellows!

I got the tail skid on (upside down I think...the plates for shock absorbing should be such that the longest one is outside...d'oh!), the cabanes and aileron connections as well as the main landing gear completed. It all looks pretty coolio.

I'll be rigging soon. This one has some interesting double rigging that I think were covered with leather? Or maybe is was streamlined metal. I'll figure this out before I start.

Thanks again for looking....Dan

A bit more work...this time on the rigging!

I noticed that there are some prominent brackets for the doubled flying and landing wires so I made a bunch out of folded paper and attached them to their correct sites.

Next, I made the wire stream-liners out of thin plastic sheet and carefully shaped them to an approximate airfoil followed by little segments of EZ-Line to represent the ends of the wires.

These were then painted silver based on some shots I've seen and carefully attached at each end to the brackets with thick CA and accelerator.

A good nights work and a good facsimile of the original. Landing wires will require an even more cunning plan tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Cheers,
Dan

With the way you've improvised so far Dan I think 'cunning' may be your middle name....

What the lil black cat with the bomb said..l

I agree. That is really "coolio". New word for me. Please don't call anyone "Doodio" or we will have a pm.com revolution on our hands! Sorry got sidetracked.

You guys and your 1/33's have got my dander up! I have a Nieuport XI & a Sop Pup in my ToDo folder that i guess I really need to look at.

Anyway as you know yourself that is coming along very nicely. The rigging anchors will look great.
