In the US, the most recommended plastic for vac forming clear canopies is PET-G.

Haven't heard much about "PVC" canopies (although it likely comes in many forms), but I understand it has a narrow temp range for forming.

As for the drop tanks, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they have camouflage, and aren’t white, like in the kit. Any thoughts?

I found a meh picture that I believe to be French with the silver drop tanks. Not sure if it is 12-ZJ though. I'm not going to be attaching the 450kg bombs like Isaac did, as I couldn't find any images of those on the aircraft. I did read here that they also carried Sidewinder missiles, which YOAV has in his F4E kit. I gues I'll use those then.

Party got canceled, which means no bottles. So, I just traced it onto some OHP film and sealed it up using the frame.
