Hey Bob. Nothing new facing a tricky biplane build. I've found having a good 3-view as a reference and doing the cabane (centre) struts only first, checking angles and distances are same as the 3-view is (to me) the best approach. The outer struts I then cut overlength and then the old try, snip, try again, snip and finally glue method. Others do things differently, but this just works for me.
And I hope you haven't really been holding your breath since June....

And you managed to dodge tyrannosaurus attacks while paper modelling. Amazing.

Hello all!
Excuse me for long absence; it hasn't been a voluntary one. I retook my building of the Heinkel in mid July after a short vacation period, not going to the attachment of the upper wing but to the assembly the undercarriage (which it is still unfinished); then my elder son came home to spend some holidays, and brought along his 20kg Doberman “cub” and I had to store away all the stuff in my working desk to avoid accidents. But one day, while walking out my son’s dog, I was caught unawares but one of his sudden bursts to run and my sciatic nerve snapped when I tried to hold him back, sending me to hospital in terrible pain. After a whole fortnight lying in a hospital bed and another week slowly recovering at home I’m still not in the mood for anything; the Heinkel is still number one in my building list, but it may take several weeks before I retake work on it. Best regards. Pablo. |

And the lesson here is: well, none actually. Because he's your son and (if you're anything like me) you love dogs......

I am very sorry to hear of that incident. I have had just enough sciatic pain myself over the years to realize that what happened to you would have been incredibly painful and debilitating.
Good wishes for a full recovery, freedom from pain, and the return of a desire and ability to get back to paper modeling. Don |

Recuperate, I know that is very painful and you can barely move. My mother suffers that very often and there are days when she can not bear the pain.

Back to work again!
Recovery is ongoing and my mood is improving Just excuse me for the pictures' gap in the building process, I retook my paper modelling in tentatively short leaps and I failed to take the appropriate pictures. So this is how it looks like today, I'll go on placing the upper wing soon. Best regards! |
