Murph's Models U-4B Air Force One

Here are some photos of my U-4B build from Murph's Models (Murph's Models - Aerocommander U4B). I shrunk it down to 1/48 scale. I originally printed it out for me to build at the recent Dayton meeting. But the models that I brought to the meeting did not travel well so I spent the whole time repairing them rather than building this model. My plan was to get some photos of this model next to the real aircraft in the museum. But then I didn't even have time to get to the museum. Such is life. Anyway, it is built now, ready for my next trip to Dayton.

The only issue with the model was where to bend the fuselage sections to achieve the proper cross section. It took a few trial and error attempts but eventually I got it right.

It looks great! This one is creeping up in my build pile. It's only taken me a year and a half to do my last model (that's not done yet). It will be neat when you get to take a picture with the real thing.

I forgot to mention that Falco bought this kit for me. I hope he enjoys the result. Thanks, Falco.

Neat, clean & precise. In other words a typical Knife model. Well done!
