I decided to make this one and I'm currently working on it. This version has more differences so I think it's much more interesting. If everything goes well, I should show you the model on sheets in the next hours or tomorrow. I'll try to design full landing gear for it or I'll give you instructions how to make it from scratch using wires. Both versions will be included: "in flight" & "with landing gear".

This is an excellent choice, Kacper. As you say the L2D3 had several differences from the DC-3, from which it was derived, and the C-47.
As the French caption says, this is an aircraft of the Tsukuba Naval Air Group (Kōkutai) and, at the time portrayed by the markings, was being used to support the Shōwa tokkō-tai (Special Attack – suicide – unit) by transporting pilots and equipment from the Tsukuba (Yatabe) area to bases in Kyushu. The yellow chrysanthemum – Kikusui – on the tail was the emblem of the 5th Air Flotilla, responsible for the air defense of Western Japan, of which the Tsukuba-ku was a subordinate command. The tail marking (ツ 901, or TSU 901) indicates an aircraft of the Tsukuba-ku. This is an excellent choice, Kacper. Tsukuba was a training base for Zero fighter pilots and, after May 1945, for training Shiden pilots. In early 1945, it also became a base for several Special Attack units. Tsukuba Naval Air Group Monument I am sure others will have more information on the aircraft and the unit. Don |

The one in attachment is just a picture which shows this version very clearly. I'm looking for different serials or I'll make it with only hinomarus. That yellow marking on the top of the vertical stabilizer is just too difficult for me.

"Tabby" is almost ready, but I have a few questions.
1. What was the difference between the roundels? Some were only red and some were red with white outline. 2. Was this plane used both, by IJAAF and IJNAF? I'm a bit confused 'cause the Japanese designations were Shōwa Navy Type 0 Transport and Nakajima Navy Type 0 Transport. Obvious thought would be IJNAF but it is mostly associated with aircraft carriers... All those questions above leads to this: I'd like to recreate possible L2D3 which could be used in the Pacific, in places like Peleliu, Tarawa, Makin, Saipan.

L2D is a naval designation too. If the plane was army, it would be a ki-something. The Japanese navy had a lot of planes that never saw the deck of an aircraft carrire, including single-seat fighters that were never intended to do so like the Mitsubishi J2M (Jack) or the Kawanishi N1K1-J/N1K2-J (George).

Ok, I found some informations and good link for Japanese aircraft markings.
Guide to Japanese Aircraft Camouflage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperi...my_Air_Service Link from wikipedia has list with all IJAAF planes during WWII and there's no L2D "Tabby". They were used only in IJNAF. Now everything is clear. I'm recreating late war IJNAF camo. I did a huge research for this plane. Great project and very important. I'm so happy that I'll give the first paper model of the "Tabby" and I can't wait to start it.

Little correction, IJNAS, not IJNAF. IJNAS - Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service
