B-24 Fiddler Green

I have almost my so far biggest and most complicated so far plane.
a modified Fiddlers Green B-24, that I would like to share with you. The build started back in February this year. This is definitely not pure paper, as it includes some electronics: a number of LEDs, light conduits, battery, charger, and IR receiver, to control the lights and rotating propellers and antennas .

And as usual in my case, my techniques evolved significantly during the build, so some early parts are looking somewhat sloppy.

The only missing part is the directional antenna, which originally should be made out of cotton swab. The problem is that all that I could find are wrapped around tubes and thus the rear end is hollow. So, I will highly appreciate an advice, how I could overcome this obstacle.

And additional photos of lightning effects. The under-wing lights are my pride, as they do not turn on instantly, but turn on gradually .

Also, a rear turret was a challenge for me, as I struggled to figure out how to assemble it and could not find relevant pictures of it.

Hopefully, I have found the correct solution that could be helpful for next builders.

Nice lights.

Fill the hollow tube with glue and let it dry.
Find a dowel that fits inside the tube.
Get a paper lollipop stick and unravel it until it fits inside the tube.
Remove the cotton tip from the swab and just use the cotton.
Get a cotton ball and remove enough material to use and wrap it around a solid dowel.

It looks really good and big. What's the designer of it? Does it have bulkhead formers?. I have been looking at B-24 from another designer in 1:50 but this one looks a bit more interesting.

That's some very good work with lights

It is designed by John Dell, and there are no formers.

Great work on this model. Looks good in that Atlantic ASW color scheme.

John Dell's models are very well designed. He goes to great length to achieve accuracy and excellent fit.

You did a beautiful job on this. John Dell's designs a well thought out and have beautiful textures. I like all the lights.

I built one of these also, the Lil' Gramper and the only trouble I had was the rear turret which was a head scratcher but turned out well after I just settled down and followed the instructions, lol.

Air Dave has quite a few B24s in 1/50 which I believe are repaints of Marek's kit, they go together quite nicely also.
