I've often desired to visit Pensacola. I'm from the San Diego area, and was born at the Naval Hospital at the North Island Naval Air Station. (They shut it down shortly after I was born. Wise decision.) As you may know, San Diego has a great naval aviation tradition, as does Pensacola.

At one time the Pensacola museum had a 1:48th Tamiya F4F, an Accurate Miniatures SBD and TBF, a Promodeler SB2C and a Otaki F6F on display that I had built (plas#$%teeq). Not sure if they are still there. If so they must be plenty dusty by now.

Thanks folks. Péricles, I've got many of the models you listed on my 'to purchase' wishlist. Will add as I go along.

Aaron, got six of your models on my wishlist mate.

Do you have a Navy version of the DC-2?

I checked out the BT-9 on your site and it's telling me the NJ-1 is still in preparation. Will keep an eye out for when it's available.

Unfortunately the not-very-visible case housing the collection of plastic models has been moved to a location I can't find. As it was, the models in it were poorly cared for, many having lost detail parts ... like partial landing gear .

A real shame! I'm sure I would have enjoyed your models!

I did my best on them. In fact I may have some pictures. As best as I can recall that was in the Photo Bug days before digital so I would have to dig them out.

In any case this has brought back great memories. My Modelling club put on an IPMS Nationals (or maybe Regional) show there years ago. The museum guys asked if we would leave some of our models there. I really don't even know if they were ever on actual display.

Rata,

Also seek out the F4U Corsair prototype by Jeff Orcutt. I think he is in our PG group over on you know where. I'm sure he will send it to you . Please remember to credit Nobi as the original designer.

I'm still researching markings. Obviously yellow wings, possible silver or grey fuselage and white fuselage stripe, but I can't find out the tail and cowling color.
