BUILD REPORT: Inwald's Spitfire Mk.Va (scale 1/33)

Hoo boy, this is my first time venturing above 1/50 scale
This model is a beautifully designed model, with rivets and the whole 9 yards, and is available for free in our download section. I reallyy hope I don't mess up anything too badly Below is the cockpit (minus a lever mechanism that attaches directly to the inside of the fuselage), complete with a seat, pedals, throttle(?), and control panel. I did make a few minor mistakes, but didnt deem it worth reworking considering how visible the cockpit will be. Additionally, there were two parts that I couldn't find on the parts pages - I-2c I believe - but so far so good!

Prolijo, as Don said, good start. I have the same design printed several months ago, but I still do not encourage myself with the 1/33, once I tried and it did not go well. Luck in this Spit, the boot looks very good.

Thanks all
After some late-night building (2am here ) i have finished the fuselage from the cockpit to the tail, and will hopefully add the tail at a more reasonable hour. The model fits fairly well, but there seems to be an alignment error on either side making the bottoms of the roundels extend too far down on one side of the seam by ~.5mm this with my less-than-perfect building skills might end up wrecking this spit, but my fingers are crossedd

Also, i forgot to mention the history of this particular Spit. It was flown by Douglas Bader, who lost his legs in a plane accident before the War. Bader taught himself how to walk again and even enlisted in the RAF where he eventually became Wing Commander and a fighter ace. Unlike Bader however i plan to give this bird its legs

Additional mention: im not sure why the white of the paper between the roundels is so prominent, its honestly invisible IRL. Camera flash is certainly not generouss

The texturing and rivets on that bird are really outstanding!

In my limited experience most of these little flaws disappear as the whole thing comes together. It is always the flaws that the builder sees. No one else really ever sees them as they take in the finished product (Except for International Pizz & Moan Society judges)

It looks great, very neat and that the camera shows things that at first glance we do not see. I see it perfect.

Thanks all for the continued interest, and Yoav i look forward to seeing your israeli spitfire someday as well

Today i finished the tail section, and im not entirely pleased with the look, but overall the result is fair enough, and any mistakes are invisible without the dreaded flash I installed the flaps of the elevators at a negative angle to depict a parked spit, and the overall fit of the pieces was fair if less than ideal at times. Now for the wings, which should be a test of my sense of symmetry...
