Ansaldo A1 Balilla - DIY 1/33

I was not happy with the models on the market,
I decided to start again from the technical drawings of the Winsock Datafile booklet.
I had never liked the engine cowling above the machine guns.

I think it's possible to do better than I've done so far:

Also, I gave up the ribs for the top of the fuselage. and, I made the lower tank independent:

For the printing of the model I used a satin-matt photo paper, 280 gr/mq.

Unfortunately, the large thickness made the cockpit too oversized which caused assembly problems in some parts of the fuselage!!

The advantage of the great thickness is that it is easier to glue and the work proceeded fast.

Excellent work on a beautiful aeroplane fella.

The squadron markings on some of the Italian Ansaldos were true works of art. And no computer graphic creations back then!

That is just fantastic, Matt77. Mine is almost ready to be completed. It doesn't look as refined as yours but it's still pretty dang awesome!

Hopefully more on yours soon....Dan
