Exclamation Construction method-Final method

My construction method is a hybrid version of the kit and adding glue tabs/strips.

I will use the fuselage frames partially, dry fit inside the forward and aft sections of the skins and then cut the frame assembly in half around the aft cockpit area. Details soon.

For starters, I had to build the nose gear bay. A bit unusual in that you build it inside the frames, but here it is. I had to improvise. There is no precision here.

That looks and sounds very difficult. Best of luck.

Thanks guys. Each step is taking me 10 times longer.

also, I would like to finish it before August 15th. I am giving short lectures on jet aviation at the US Air Force museum and would like to bring this one along with some other paper models. That will be another topic.

Thumbs up Nose section

I decided to use the printed copies I scanned as material for glue tabs. I cut them to size and glued on. Now it is a simplified glue tab method with no frames yet. Those will be added once the entire forward fuselage is assembled using the skin parts.

The extreme nose will be added last since it is made up of two parts that can't be attached now.

After each section is added, I slipped it over the framing just for dry fit ( not glued to the frame yet ).

Go aft till you get to the cockpit area.

Hats off to you Isaac. The very thought of tackling a build like that gives me the cold sweats.

Exclamation Forward section continued

Thanks guys. Again, this is a complicated kit and I have been trying to tackle it for years and finally doing it with modifications.

Anyhow, here is the entire forward fuselage section slipped over the framing ( no glue yet ).

The frames needed sanding to make it all fit properly.
