MiG-29, 1:24, foam former Design

Hello modelers,

I`ve started another project, but I don`t know if is possible to share it with you, because it is not made from paper, but from Depron, 1.5mm (extruded PS) and new foam material named Vector 0.2mm, 1mm from Graupner and it is EPP. This is made by scalling Design famous MiG-29 1/33 to 1/24. The plan is to do it flyable, if not than it will be static only.

Very impressive paper model "conversion".

Appears you haven't saved any weight or made accommodations for the electronics and power, so I assume this will be one very nice static model?

Very interesting.
It reminds me that, years ago when I was flying remote controled models powered with thermic engines, there also were modelers who built “gliders” models of B-52, Caravelle (French airliner in the 60's), Vulcan bombers, Spitfire, Fouga Magister etc. All these models were made of Depron and were large enough to accomadate a radio and moving ailerons, rudder and elevator. These models, used in slope flights, were hand-launched and , wind permitting, they were able to fly for minutes if not hours. Actually the pilot gave up before the glider.
Good luck.

I will use the electronics from crashed extruded MiG-29 which was in cca scale 1/30 with the two RD 35mm EDF (electric ducted fun). In principle I need to use only two microservos which will be mixed for tailerons and jets doesn`t need rudder special. Elevator is enough with mixed ailerons. Battery will be placed in between of the inlets nacelles and regulators in inlets on the upper side for cooling effect where are placed the gills. But this is plan only I`ll see how it goes!

Please continue with sharing your build, you are using paper originals to build your model.

We have seen many people use paper model templates to make Depron aircraft.

I doubt that you will want to fly and break such a beautiful plane... I would just place it on the shelf next to the other "paperish" planes.
