Nice advance! What you think that looks strange is the thickness of paper. Seems that you used 225 gr/cm paper and the formers(2 mm) and tabs contributes to a bulky appearence; well, that´s I think. I used 125 gr/cm paper and the formers made out of cereal box cardboard ,about 1 mm thick.Let´s see if Ponytail give us the info about the materials that he used. Nevertheless it´s a very clean construction in advance. The nose must be heavily balasted because this plane is a real tail seater. Waiting for the final steps. Regards,Tony

Greetings and thanks Tony. The paper is as you say, very thick, but we are accommodating it. The cardboard, 2mm as recommended by Gerard, but of poor quality because it tends to expand into small pieces. But notice something else in your model, look to see if you find out what it is

Yes, I see it: the wings are reversed!

Here's Ponytail!
I usually use 1mm greyboard for the formers and 160gr/m2 paper. Gerards formers are often to big, but then giving room to sand in shape. Never use the tabs and cut them off.

Bingo Tony.First I thought they were like that, because usually we closed the wing by the vanishing edge. This confused me, I had to look again and again at your model, Willem's, Gerard's photos and pictures of the plane to convince me as they went. I have placed pieces many times poorly positioned.

Greetings, a little more today, not much I was very busy. The tail, no problem, I adjust very well, very good design of Gerard. The edges then I will paint them, I have to look for something that gives me the color similar. What follows , canopy, deposits and train. Many thanks.

Greetings. We arrived at the end of T33, a little longer than expected. The time is very short in these parts. Enjoy a lot with this very good design by Gerard, except for a couple of things, for example a couple of structural pieces that were large and I had to lower it to enter the fuselage, and the unusual way to close the wings, I found no problems.
Everything fits very well, the alignment achieved with the internal structure is great, the wings, the tail, remained perfectly aligned, I think not wrong if I say that it is one of the best alignments I achieve. In short, a very good design of a nice airplane. Who has it filed animese to build it, it is not easy, the nose above all, but the rest is easier. Tips: study well pieces and drawings before starting, 160grs paper as the boys commented, I used very thick paper and it cost me enough to accommodate it, 1mm cardboard I think it would work well for the structure, if you add eyelashes. Thank you everyone to see and comment, the advice received helps a lot. And again, many thanks to Gerard for his kindness in sending me the file, I hope you see and you like my construction. Thank you very much everyone. |
