from the ministry of rivet counting and the terminology police.... these are strip and joiner pieces. pure butt joints are edge to edge, they butt up together, bulkhead to bulkhead is where each end has a bulkhead and they mate up together.

seriously looks like a great undertaking. will be interested in the bristle brush rigging. I haven't found a brush so far that will give in scale looking rigging, yet.

Where did you find skinny Styrofoam like that?Hobby shop of some kind?I use cardboard from cereal boxes -styrofoam is way lighter ergo better for some things.
