BV 141 Blohm&Voss Asymmetrical Aircraft 1938 (1:50)
Hello everyone,
I started a new Secret Planes project, the plane Blohm & Voss BV 141. This aircraft flown in the WW II ,and was asymmetrical. They build about 26 planes. There is a very well made technical book about it (see picture), from the series: "X-Planes Of The Third Reich". It is very interesting aircraft, because the position of the engine and the canopy were not in the same line but parallel side by side. This model is an old one from 1993 from the polish company Fly Model. Its scale is usually 1:33 but I scaled it down to 1:50 and add some colors to interior space or the seats. So I hope this was a good choice. If not I have to start with the 1:33 scale. |

All the best JCK. I've never seen a model of this plane done in card before. Looking forward to the finished article!

Thanks,
some pieces were scale down right, and some were 6% smaller, I don't now what my PC have done. I had to print them again. But now they are all correct scale down to 1:50. So now I'm ready to start to glue the aircraft together. New pictures will follow soon! Hello,
I started with the engine. The engine cylinder block is flat, only a drawing. So I copied that painting and glued it on a cardboard and cut the cylinder out. I painted the edges and glue them to the part with the drawings (see pic. 2-4). After that I cut the covers and painted part 4 black, because the round frame (Part C) has to be set 3 mm into the cover 4 (see picture 7). There you have to build 12 exshout. Next step ist to build the frames for the whole fuselage, wings and cockpit. The parts fits well so far. The blueprint is missing some parts. So I had to finde out where they belongs. But it wasnīt a big deal. (see last picture). |

Coming along well. The layering on the engine looks great and really adds depth to an otherwise flat piece.
Look forward to more of the build on this odd aircraft. JoeG
