He made a special effort to copy the existing display in Israel, and from the pictures I've seen it is a dead ringer........

Maybe I'll recolor a cleaner version if there any interest, if it OK with Yoav......

Josef.......... you are doing an amazing job on this model, I wish I could do half as well as you are........Fantastic job!

Thank you, all I have to do is cut, fold or round and glue.
Oh yes, coloring the edges is very important.

That would be a lot of work, unless you had the model's weathering layer (if there is one).

I just want to be clear that I'm a huge Yoav fan and was in no way intending to cast aspersions on his decision to do the particular model he chose.

As far as I can tell the only people who are not fans of Yoav designed models are some other model designers green with envy. His models look magnificent and are accurate in spite of having so much smaller number of parts (did I word it right?).

Even some of his older 1/50 models look far better than some of the current 1/50s coming from other sources.

Don't get me wrong Gene, I didn't think you were being critical of Yoav or his work. But everyone has their own likes and dislikes.........that's why we have chocolate and vanilla ice cream, or for that matter Ford and Chevy trucks!

I too love Yoav's work and wish I could have half as much coloring skills as he has........... I was just thinking that the model is so well designed, and Josef is doing such a fantastic job building it, another livery would be a nice alternative.

I think Yoav gave permission to any one that wants to recolor his models.

So lets see some of the artwork here.

That is just stunning!! It looks just like the real thing.. Congrats.

I am a little undecided on the weathering thang. From my pla#@$#teeq days I got so disgusted by all the aircraft that no self respecting crew chief would allow out of his hands. I think this one is a bit overdone but considering the part of the world it lived in it is probably pretty close.

It's a display, not an operational jet. Perfect replica.

Dear Friends

There is no arguing about taste or smell like John said.
I personally prefer the appearance of an old-fashioned airplane over the appearance of an airplane that has now left the factory.

About this specific model.....
I wanted to do something a bit different with this model compared to all my other models, because the model is white and a bit boring to me.

about the over done.....
There is no over done in the dirt I made to the model, because the model is based on the planes in the backyard of the Israeli Air Force ... and they are really dirty with lots of dust and sand from the desert.
You can take a look at the following pictures.

best regards

YOAV
