I was seen another thread and they talked about model fidelity to the real plane.
I allways research before making a model, the internet has a lot of pictures and books about anything you can imagine. For example, the wiring in the WWI planes uses to be more complex that the paper model companies show in the instructions. The engines, antenas and armament tends to change almost between planes of the same WWII squadron, so check any time you see repaints.
The reason is cost/benefits. The 90% of the paper modelers will never know the differences between a Spitfire MkI and MkX, for example. And, redrawing the parts is time consuming. The cost for the model companies is too much for accurate fidelity. So, for the 10% of us who love to make changes, use internet.
For example, this Ju-88a belonged to an specific squadron, and as long as I know, was painted like this for just 3 attacks. And the Me-262 in the same picture was build in the US and the engines are totally different to the Jumo 004 of the original planes.

Ok, continuing with the Cessna 152, using a low quality camera, sorry.
The original paper model has a problem with the tail, the base it's shaped wrong, it must be angled more back, and the fin must be longer, almost to the rear window.
A new dorsal fin corrects both isues. I'm a bit worried about the wing-fuselage join, I would love to make the windows from acetate but untill the fuselage is assembled I would not know how to place the windows, and without the windows I can't assemble the fuselage. The safer solution would be to assemble two fuselages, one with only paper and the final one with acetate.

Same time than the previous pictures but with a better camera.

Anyway, right now I'm not thinking about paper models but about HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020!

After a lot of time I resumed the assembly of the Cessna 152.
It's still unpainted and the logo on the tail is just outlined, but the fuselage is already here.
I placed a reinforcement just were the firewall would go, and a small triangle of cardboard under the tail fin, inside the fuselage.
The plane that I'm modeling, a german Cessna 152 registration G-BSCZ, it's painted in a colorfull yellow and blue.
And, as allways, it's fun to do

Today I started to paint the fuselage of the Cessna. And I took the time to make small touches with blue pen of the "wings" on the back of the Piper Cherokee cockpit.
Yesterday I printed a Fairey Swordfish, 1/72 scale, that will be painted like que "Q of Queenie" depicted in the book "To the War in a Stringbag", a wonderfull autobiography.
Having a plastic Gloster Gladiator painted like one of the three inmortals of Malta, I can't wait to see them together (The Gladiator is going to have an improvement too).

Ditto, informative too. The Me-262 clones you mentioned were a fascination for a while. Apparently none are still flying so they had short lives.

Thanks, Sergio, thanks wireandpaper, thanks Mike!
Well, the wing is finished, but I can't glue it to the fuselage until the nosewheel is placed.
Tha mainwheels are in process of construction, but when I placed the axis I saw that the model is too tailheavy. So I had to place some shards of lead inside the engine compartiment. Yes I know the lead is poisonous, but I have a handfull from decades ago, so I can just spend it. If you don't have lead, small nails or even pebbles can do.
The paint, as you can see is improving slowly. The idea is to be adding detail over detail untill the model is finished.

And... wasn't planing to publish more pictures so soon, but I won't continue the assembly for a week.
So... the noseweel in "bare metal" and painted. The propeler assembled. I glued it, but the original paper model had a flat angled front plane, and the propeler was pointing down. I had to unglue the nose cone, rebuild the front panel of the engine and reglue the propeler.
I'm painting the registration on the fuselage. It would look better if I used a marker, but I don't have one.. or maybe I do? I'll have to check.
