Lysander mK III A.

I did say it was a long time since my last post,so I must thank Rick stef for getting me back on track.Thankyou to all of you for your generous comments & even high praise.Tim Crowe,i have downloaded your pics into a file folder for quick reference. It is a Lysander Mk III A by Orlik at I/33.I had intended to get all the fiddly bits out of the way first with the engine being next, however, after completing the cockpit I needed some instant gratification so moved on to the fuselage, now that I am up to the tail, rudder & horizontal stabilizers I think I might go back to the engine. So far all the tectured parts are a great fit,but the same cannot be said for the formers. If I were to build it again I would detache the canopy parts & build it seperatly. Not a lot to show yet as i'm even slow with simple models.

I see Lysander on regular bases in CWH Hamilton, it's disassembled right now as it had an accident a while back.

That gives me a nice opportunity to look up construction of it and what's under the skin. Interesting plane no doubt.Must have been really something when it came out but it got outdated fast. I'm looking forward to seeing your construction continue .

In it's covert insertion/exfil role it was relevant for a good while. Not much else quite like it at the time though a 'Stork' did the same job just as well.

I always thought it was the first STOL aerioplane. Predated the Storch.
