Cyclone powered Hawk

Before I get much further into this, is anyone else doing a "Little Norway in Canada" Hawk 75A-8? Just trying to figure out the revised cowl, but don't want to duplicate what someone else is already doing.

Regards,
John

This is Cyclone powered export version H75.Model is of P-36 Wasp powered US version.Diffrent engine cowling and first section of a fuselage. If Aaron makes this version it would open up export H75 liveries.

There were 20 Wasp powered Hawks delivered to Norway just before German invasion,13 of them ended up sold to Finland.I'm not sure how those were painted.

And another P-36 done.Note difference in color on some parts. That's not really different color but a reflection of the light on laser print.I like inkjet printing much more but have access to free use of laser printer so I'll milk that until chance runs out.All edges are colored with various shades of pencil. The only thing I changed was color on canopy.Rather than uniform blue it's a bit shaded now with reflection light steaks.I think it looks pretty decent.

Here are couple of pictures of undercarriage and covers. This is easily done by hand if you add a small square of spare color (in this case grey) to the kit.Spare color use to be a standard addition to many kits years ago and it might come handy to some.

Oh yes. I like that canopy much better. 'Course when I do mine it will hopefully be clear. Those back panels have me stumped at the moment.

Another beauty fella. The P-36 was a very important aircraft in US fighter development and deserves more air time.

Thanks guys.

Yes,it was very important plane in US where it served as an advanced trainer till the end of war.It also served very well in defense of France in 1940 and on lesser known fronts of WW2 in India,Burma,Finland and in French N.Africa.

Not to mention it gave birth to famous P-40 but that's another story hopefully Aaron will tell us at some point
