Malvinas Skyvan mottled camouflage scheme
Now that research is done I wonder how to replicate that mottled camo, since in Inkscape there is no Airbrush Tool like in Photoshop, that brownish mottles has no defined edges but a vanishing one. I can´t find a post when someone asking how to do an out of focus camo applied to a Skywarrior, I search it in the other sections(recolors, software, tips) but wasn´t able to find it again. Any help? Thanks and Regards.Tony.

Actually, Inkscape allows blur effects.
I used it when recoloring the B-24D into a US Navy PBY-1. I applied a 2% blur on the outline (line width: 0.88 mm) of the blue shapes of the fuselage and engines camo. IIRC it's a case where you need to tick the box labelled "rasterize filter effects" in the save-to-pdf dialog box. I'm not a fan of using it though since it tends to make the final pdf bigger (I think I chose 300 dpi for the rasterization).

That A-3 recolor look extensive, and may require minor adjusts in the tail.

The WIP in the A-3 is only the tail; still very green. This will be in the Gunships Series.Regards.Tony.

fate of the PA-50
Just to conclude, there were two distinct camouflages: the mottled and the more conventional a la RAF. Light under surfaces, with the id number overprinted (see the band of matt paint in both planes in contrast to the glossy surrounds) although the remains of the PA-50 shows the original ID number and the crossed anchors of the PNA probably washed over the inclemencies of that environment. The planes were painted before the Falklands/Malvinas War, likely around the previously avoided conflict with Chile late 1978, although the color pictures shown were taken in 1979. The last picture shows a pair in rough terrain, Patagonia?

Checking alignments
Just checking the alignment of the yellow band, not the mottles.

Hi Tony:
For the alignment I usually use a larger scale, in this case it filled a letter page. But the final release is in 1/300, and for me a reduction to 1/400. By the way it is already posted in Bruno's thread. One model per (non-working) day |

I began to build wireandpaper´s design of this. Being in raster it pixels a little. Paper is very thin: 70 gr recycled twice paper. And is the latest version seen in Malvinas.Regards. Tony.
