The QUEST JET

Anyone tackle the jet from the 60's Jonny Quest cartoons? Looks neat!

It looks like a North American Snark with huge wings and rudder. I have plans for a Snark. Why don't you build the Snark and put the other stuff on it?

I absolutely LOVE vintage cartoons, especially this one. I might consider giving this one a whack to give as a freebie. It's incredibly straight forward. As I recall, there was also some kind of futuristic ramp for boarding.

Man, you could do a whole world of paper models based on all the stuff in JQ. Lots of submarines, hovercraft, gadgets and more (as I recall). Some cool monsters too!
Despite all the hubbub about it at the time, it was a pretty ambitious cartoon show for kids at the time.
Chris
PS. Cool music, too!

Jonny Quest was hands-down my favorite boyhood cartoon, I must have been about 7 when it first aired. In artistic style, it was so much more realistic than other cartoons - not just the drawing style, the characters from many different cultures had accurate appearances. And lots of details - an episode set in Hong Kong would have Chinese on the street signs. Not many cartoons rose to that level.

And of course there was the outstanding music - that jazzy, brassy, percussive theme and incidental music - way hip for a 1965 kids' show.

The only drawback was that annoying, yapping cartoonish dog, Bandit.

Cjwalas, so true about the abundance of potential model subjects. Unfortunately, the Robot Spy would be quite difficult in paper. Maybe an Erikon Bar?

Suffer, not! I had forgotten just how innovative that theme song was.
