1/100 Spitfire Mk.I - Istanbul, Turkey 1940 (NOBI, PacificWind's Recolors)

It's been a long time. I haven't posted any recolor for a while so here I got something for you. Spitfire Mk.I - Istanbul, Turkey 1940. Interesting plane in interesting markings and with interesting history. This one with fuselage number "3" was originally for Poland but wasn't delivered because of the WWII outbreak in September 1939. In this situation, UK sold this Spitfire to Turkey.

Plane is available in our downloads section. I hope you'll like it.

I'll build it definitely. Sooner or later.

White crescent+star on starboard side are of wrong orientation. It should be just like on Turkish flag.
I remember a discussion on one of the English speaking modeling forums (Britmodeller I think) about those Spitfires.Huge arguments about how they were painted followed.

Did you ever hear what planes did that shipment diverted to Turkey contained?I heard of one Spit, one Fairey Battle, some Hurricanes and larger number of French MS 406 .

Nice model.Good to see you taking break from WC6.

What do you mean exactly the white crescent+star are of wrong orientation on starboard? They're fine according to schemes.

About the shipment. I heard about the planes you mentioned, although I'm not sure if there wasn't any Blenheim too.

According to the photos of the published link, the orientation is correct on both sides.

Kacper is correct-my bad.I checked for photos of other Turkish planes of that era and they are all have tail marking in this direction.I was pretty sure it was part of national flag and normally no country air force messes with that.My apologies.
