32 lb. I actually should have probably used a little heavier since this has no internal structure.

Here comes the "jokes"... Some egg(s) definitely had to be harmed in the design of this kit. How "eggsactly" do you go about designing/building such a kit? Which came first the "egg" or the plane? Does building this kit could be compared to piecing together "egg" shells? Finally best not drop it or it might crack like an "egg". Here is a suggestion... make an oversize model of an egg carton large enough to snuggly house your build and fill it up as you go building a dozen of these "egg" plane and make it a very interesting and funny display of "Airplane Eggs"

Calling this finished. Had a great time building this little bird. The Wildcat has always been my favorite airplane ever since reading about Chuck O'Hare, Jimmy Thach and the Cactus Air Force. Even though it is a caricature of a real airplane there is no mistaking that is from Grumman's "Iron Works".

Falco,

So how much sleep did you lose last night coming up with all this?

It really does capture the essential characteristics of the Wildcat.

Falco ... you're not going dotty ... read this thread ...

VigLink Added Links

Seeing this little cutie, and looking around at other so-called Egg planes, I am very much reminded of the Wren 'Oddentifications" from WW2. I've often thought that they would make good subjects for paper models. My Dad had a copy of the book that I very much coveted. I'm sure he would not have sold it but it hasn't turned up among his artifacts yet, and any I've seen offered on eBay have always been asking silly money prices.
