Nakajima B5N2 Kate, NOBI and Kancho designs, construction process.

Greetings. As I commented in my post on the 7th, today I show the WIP of both models.
First of NOBI, in 1 / 48. Great design, simple, practical, precise with a great final result. We already know the quality of the designs of NOBI, I have nothing new to add, just show you some pictures of the process. It's great to build your Kate.

Now the design of Kancho.
In 1/72, very nice textures, with subtle lines, oil stains, shadows and wear.
Strange and very interesting constructive system. It is not difficult, nor simple, requires a lot of patience and extra time. hurry forget to try it, and those who do not have much fun with this system. I built it as it comes, just cut tabs sticking them internally to avoid the annoying steps.
The fuselage comes in two parts, has a certain resemblance to a Zio, you have to Shape first, then stick by parts, wait and continue.
The horizontal stabilizers come together, is assembled and placed on the tail through an opening and fits very well.
Wings, interesting part, 2 center pieces, gives us the dihedral, the wells of the train and the surface to join the wings, which bring 3 upper and 3 lower parts. First, the two central pieces are joined, marking the bend points. Then we start with the upper center piece, slowly, we have to bend the bo rdes, paste one side, wait for the drying and close the other side. This piece is essential because it gives us the angle of the dihedral. We do the same at the bottom, then continue with the other pieces from the inside out ending at the tips. It is a slow but very entertaining process, and everything fits very well. We place the wings in place, we continue with a central piece in the belly that joins the one that closes the union of the wing to the fuselage. This comes in two parts, I suppose to avoid "wrinkles" to the curve.
The rest, motor, canopy, helix and others is not different from other designs. The wheels do not modify either, they are 2 strips for each wheel, one thinner than the other, they are simply rolled up.
Achieve a very clean construction in certain parts is very satisfied. I have to polish my skills with this system, which pleases me and is extremely interesting and accurate. I hope this serves as a guide for anyone who wants to try it.
I thank infinitely NOBI for indicating how to get your model and the s Mr. Moore for communicating with me and gently sending me your Kates, I hope you like my job. Thank you very much.

Have to agree with you. Nobi is the king of aircraft as far as I am concerned. His separate joiners method makes 1/100 build look so much better. Butt joints Rule!! When I do other kits I re engineer them to have the Nobi type of joiner strips. It also makes the build process so much easier.

Great job on your Kates young fella.

I agree on joiner strips. They make things so much simpler.I did few kits from 1950-60s and converted them to joiner strips, they came together much better than original designs.

MichaelS-you never did any of Marek Pacynski designs. He use to do 1/50 models and is doing 1/33 for a while now.Try scaling down some 1/50 when you can-awesome fit, maybe too many parts for 1/100 .

Thanks for showing Sergio. Not surprised at the high quality of the Nobi but I wondered how the Kancho would go together. Looked difficult but you pulled it off nicely.

Thank you guys. As I said, we know the quality of and the talent of NOBI. This thread is mainly to show the Kancho design system. A great design, I had no coupling problems, everything fits very well, it's a bit more complicated, this system requires more time nothing more. I hope that this WIP serves to encourage and guide others to try it, for my part enjoy the construction and later try other designs.

Thank you very much!
Pericles, try it, in 1/100 I do not know, it would be very complicated, I think. It needs several bottles of your magical enhancer liquid !!
Darren, there is another thread where you can see them finished.
