I see a theme starting to develop here... Strategic Air Command - Past, Present & Future.

These were the aircraft I grew up with. As a boy I lived off the end of active runway of Offutt AFB, Nebraska. Mostly it was B-50, KC-97 and KC-135 tankers. Occasionally a B-36, B-47, or -52 would come roaring overhead. I think back then the crews were under orders to keep 'em low to let the taxpayers see what they were paying for. It was only later that Peeps complained about the noise.
On TV was "12 O'clock High" for my -17 fix. I got my USN addiction fulfilled with "Victory at Sea". So I guess that is the theme. Believe it or not now I am working on an F-80 in 1/300! Talk about tiny.

great collection Michael. plus ones on victory at sea and 12 o clock high. my brother and I can still hum the tunes to each. my son and I were sailing a 26 foot Macgregor sailboat thru some heavy atlantic rollers some years ago that looked like the intro to victory at sea. the whole time I was humming that intro until we made harbor.

Only discovered this amazing (and award winning) series a few years ago. Out of interest the composer was Richard Rogers of Rogers and Hammerstein fame.
