Christmas 1941 with VF-6
Readers of this thread with an interest in early Pacific War U.S. Navy air operations may be interested to know that after painting the rudder stripes on their F4F-3 and F4F-3A aircraft in line with the 21 December 1941 Commander Aircraft Battle Force guidance, Fighting Squadron Six aboard USS Enterprise published a Christmas card with the inscription, "pepermint candy sticks may be viewed on the tails of planes." [Yes. They misspelled "peppermint."]
