Talking Guess my next project!!

The contest to guess my next project is now open! The winner may win either a Captain Midnight Secret Decoder Ring or a rotten banana that I found this morning in the back of the 'Fridge.

Bell XS-1 46-062, Glamorous Glennis.

The Wiki article is pretty good and includes a video: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_X-1#Mach_1_flight

I already have a banana.

Lucky Guess!!!

So once you publish a research piece on the Captain Midnight Decoder Ring I may send it to you.

Probably just as well that you have a Nanner. This one is pretty far gone my friend!

Dear Michael:
Are you going to make it with the front wooden skid or the later rubber wheel?
Miles
My father started working for Bell in '39

Wow! I just read the Wiki article about it. There was no mention there of a skid or a wheel. Perhaps you should head on over there and update it.

Doubt that in this scale it matters much which....

Paper 1/300 X-1 & B-29 Mother Ship from S&P and Jeff Orcutt

First few hours of work with it pouring rain outside so no "Honey Do's" to interrupt. Printed on 32 lb for structural chunks. 24 lb for the stuff that needs more shaping.

Dear Michael:
Did not think you were going for Micro scale, Want to see chucks curved headed cane in 1/300 scale.
Col. Don:
Wish I had some of the Zero Defect posters from the Nam War years that Bell posted up all over the factories. The first landings were with a block of wood (Lignum Vite) Then Goodyear Rubber company managed a high temperature Rubber for tires.
Miles

Now to me this is when this site shines: MS doing one of Jeff's excellent repaints of Bruno's creations topped off with interesting info by Don and Miles.
Gotta confess sometimes my interest in this forum wanes a bit but this stuff reels me straight back in. Thanks fellas.
