A comparison
Here is a photo comparison of the Yak 1000 and the Lockheed F-104.
Both are very small winged aircraft designed for speed. However, the F-104 is two generations ahead and has an engine that is substantially more powerful. Still externally, you can see a similarity.    Fun stuff Isaac

That's a weird looking bird Isaac, but very interesting. The pitot tube on the air splitter reminds me of a narwhal. I prefer the F104 if it comes to flying and reliability! Nice to see that one again

Most of the Russian planes are actually copied in their form to the American and French planes ... Why is that?

More early jets pics
As part of my ever increasing Soviet 1st generation jets, here is the Yak 1000 with a Yak-15, Yak-17W, Mig-9, Suchoi Su-9.
   not in the same group photo: The Yak 17 and the Yak-23 I built were given away last year as part of my thinning the herd project and shown here separately. I think I will build new models of those to add on to my collection.   Isaac
