I look forward to whatever you decide to do, but have you considered any of the aircraft used by the French in Indo-China in the late 1940s? I am thinking especially of the Nakajima Ki-43s of Group de Chasse 7, but there are a number of other interesting choices, including Spitfire Mk 8s, JU 52s, MS 500s, and (although I do not have information on the colors and markings) Aichi E13A and MitsubishiA6M2-N floatplanes.

A lot of recent planes Bruno did were used in Thailand and post war China (both sides). Some were also in NK service.

Don, as I said, for my new project I'm considering planes used by Vichy France, Thailand or Japan. Post-WWII history Indochina is indeed also interesting to me but I do not plan any French aircraft from that era now.

Here're some of my ideas for a new repaint.

I smile when they write "predominantly green sprayed on upper surfaces".
in other words: big blotches

Here are some additional planes...

"Earthquake McGoon" (AKA Jame B. McGovern), would be proud.

Is there any authoritative information on the colors and markings of the CAT C-119 that McGovern was flying when he was killed?

Wiki sez: "The C-119 went on to see extensive service in French Indochina, beginning in 1953 with aircraft secretly loaned by the CIA to French forces for troop support. These aircraft were generally flown in French markings by American CIA pilots often accompanied by French officers and support staff. The C-119 was to play a major role during the siege at Dien Bien Phu, where they flew into increasingly heavy fire while dropping supplies to the besieged French forces. The only two American pilot casualties of the siege at Dien Bien Phu were James B. McGovern, Jr. and Wallace A. Buford. Both pilots, together with a French crew member, were killed in early June, 1954, when their C-119, while making an artillery drop, was hit and crippled by Viet Minh anti-aircraft fire; the aircraft then flew an additional 75 miles (121 km) into Laos before it crashed." Wiki cites: Grandolini, Albert. "French 'Packets': Fairchild C-119 Boxcars in French Indochina". Air Enthusiast, Volume 66, November/December 1996, pp. 52–60. I may have that issue of Air Enthusiast in the basement. Will check.

Kacper: Apologies for this diversion. I know you said you are not planning to build French Indochina aircraft, but Cliff's post sent my mind down a rabbit hole and my fingers to typing.

Don

No problem, Don. All those informations may be useful in the future.
Now I just want to focus on years 1937-1945 in CBI and Pacific theaters.

I'll announce my definitve choice for next recolor somewhere between 10th and 14th August 2019.

Post Next aircraft

Little earlier than I expected, here's my newest recolor.
I've decided to make a Ki-61-I Hien "Tony" from Formosa, February 1944.

I hope to build it in the next few days.
