Thanks for all positive comments.
By the way, I've sent this Hien to Ecardmodels so it should be available there soon.

I think there're not too many pictures of Ki-61s used by Republic of China. Nonetheless, I've found these two photos.
I'm not sure if they're from Formosa(Taiwan).

Post New repaint

Initially I had planned something completely different but Bruno surprised me with the offer to test-build his new D4Y2 "Judy". As I really like this plane I just could not refuse.
I've done a small repainting work and I hope to start this D4Y2 tomorrow. Today I'm taking a break.

I very much look forward to seeing you build this one Kacper.

As I am sure you already know, it is an aircraft of the 523rd Naval Air Group, known as the Taka Butai (Hawk Unit). Between July 1943 and July 1944, the First Air Fleet gave new code names and designations to its units and used the Kanji for the unit name as the prefix to the tail codes. You can see the whole list with examples here: JNAF FIRST AIR FLEET Unit Code Names, 7/43 ~ 7/44: KANJI/English List. (2nd REV)

Taka-4 has a very stylized version of the Kanji for "Hawk." It appeared on most of the 253 Ku aircraft as

Thanks for the precise and detailed identification of the unit. I knew it was 523rd Naval Air Group but I wasn't sure about its correct Japanese name.

Also thanks for that very useful link. I've been looking for something like this.
Kanji on my "Judy" seems to be a little simplified but I based it on the profile in the attachment. Maybe it's even better because more tiny details in such a small scale like 1/100 could give a little blurry effect.

And here's the second profile I used as a reference.

There was some variation in the way the Kanji were applied. Taka 4 used the simplified version of the character.

D4Y2 Suisei (Judy)
Tinian 1944

Another Japanese aircraft is done.
Bruno, thanks for letting me do the test-build. It's a great design and although I've found it little tricky in some places, it was a real pleasure to build it.

I'm very glad to have "Judy" in my collection. To my eye, D4Y2 with its Atsuta inline engine was one of the best-looking airplanes of WWII.
