Magnificent job on the repaint and modifications K-man. Landing gear looks challenging- you've done well.

Here's the first one. Some of you probably saw this Kittyhawk before.
model looks great..... minor detail, as the Netherlands is a monarchy since 1813, all military arm have the label royal.....the correct name is Royal Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force (RNEIAF) or in dutch Militaire Luchtvaart van het Koninklijk Nederlandsch-Indisch Leger (ML-KNIL)

Royal Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force is indeed an official name. However, NEIAF abbreviation is very popular in historical sources. I think it's correct if we consider the location, in this case Dutch East Indies/Netherlands East Indies(Nederlands-Oost-Indië). Word "royal'' is rather added if we want to emphasize the affiliation with particular country, in this case Kingdom of the Netherlands.
So I would say both versions are correct, although they should be understood a bit differently.

Mostly I used this source for that Kittyhawk.

Talking about the next aircraft...

As I mentioned before, A-24 Banshee should be my current project. And it will be, but...
I've decided to make two recolors/modifications of Dauntless, although I'll build only one. So I asked Garry(Rata) to test that Banshee with tail number 115779(destroyed during Bombing of Darwin). Considering the history of that plane I'm sure he'll do a decent work with it. But before he start it, I'll build my RNZAF Dauntless first.

In the attachments you can see the real NZ5005 and my recolored profile.

as this thread is about models and not history books and you're not writing one yourself, i will not dive to deep into this subject. i can only appreciate you made this recolor

however the use of royal does make sence as the official head of state for the dutch east indies was still the queen of the netherlands (in ww2 this was queen wilhelmina)
countries like australia, canada and new zealand still have a royal navy and royal airforce, even though their queen lives in england.......

sometimes popular terms used in history writing are simply incorrect..... another example is the word holland used for the netherlands. holland as a country has never existed, it's a region in the northwestern part of the netherlands.
