1958, the Sea of Azov and a soviet admiral. I tried to guess but didn't find the answer.

Actually, identifying the person from the portrait could be a key to success...
The work is going good and the aircraft is almost finished. If everything goes well, I should be able to show it on Tuesday.

Office ron picture looks a lot like Georgy Beriev, constructor of many of Soviet flying boats.
They flew all around Soviet Union including Azov Sea I'm sure. Be-6 recolor? |

The Beriev Be-10 Mallow entered service in 1958 (according to wikipedia) and both units that used it were based in Crimea. Is there a paper model of it?

MON did it in 1963.They simply called it "Jet Flying Boat" but that's Be-10.I've never seen it build but I did other models from MON and they were fitted well but simplified a lot. When scaled down they turn out really good for the age, possibly better than Maly,Geli and the like.

Be-6PLO
Taganrog 1958 And here it is. Be-6PLO, a Soviet flying boat from the early years of Cold War. My repaint portrays an aircraft that operated from Taganrog, 1958. It was used there for maritime patrols in the Azov Sea area. The model is in 1/200 scale because I think this is the best one for bigger planes from S&P free package. However, even at 1/200 there are things that have to be improved or modified. In this Beriev, I had to redesign the horizontal stabilizers for example(otherwise, it would be impossible to build the model correctly). And that's a modification. The improvements are obviously the details that were not included in the original kit. These are mostly antennas and exhaust pipes. I also designed a few spare parts that can be used if you need some of plane's colors somewhere. Actually, I found four places that needed something like this. There were gaps under both wings and also in the engines. The recolor itself is also quite interesting and maybe even a bit unusual. It's basically a remastered version of Bruno's original model. I just resized it to 1/200, added more details, did some weathering on textures, changed the colors to more accurate and that's all... I hope you'll like it. It should be available in our downloads section soon.
