1/144 F-4E "El Toro Bravo"

I was contacted by Brent to test build a repaint of Bruno's F-4E.
I rescaled it down to 1/144, and added a fuel dump mast, antennas,
and pitot tube, as well as layered wheel and tire assemblies.

Again, I found my ineptitude in building one of Bruno's planes shows
really bad in the F-4. With that, CMDRTED graciously helped me understand
where and how I was going wrong. With many of the F-4s under his knife, I
think he was qualified to lead me!

Knowing what I know now, when I rebuild this one, it should be considerably better.

So, for your daily chuckle, the pics.

Sure looks like a Fox Four to me. Yes the Phantom is a weird collection of subtle shapes.

looks good. the fuel dump pipes are a good option I didn't consider. it is a prominent phantom characteristic. also gene k pm'd me about the aft engine housings need to be snugged up around the exhaust cans. I agree but haven't figured out a good way to snug it around without tears in the aft housing. Ray, this is still a great job despite some of your concerns. looks like I have to add a few more details, and revisit these on future builds.

Everyone's they're own toughest critics- this little bird looks pretty good from here. I've seen worse F-4's. Like my abandoned attempts that are now landfill.

The last F4 I did was a P one, from Japan,LS brand 1/144.
I painted it with typ hobby flats enamel from Patra.

But this one is fantastic. Just leaves mine in the dust,
since the F4 can reach Mach 2.
