Boeing 727-200adv Iberia 1/144 scale
Between my list of "to do" planes, there is a 727-30 Lufthansa at 1/70 scale made by Leon Schuyt.
At first I wanted to resize it to 1/72 scale, but later decided to make it at 1/144 to save storage space. Now, the only difference between the -100 and -200adv models is the length of the fuselage and a small difference in the central jet intake. So, I have a question: If I make the repaint, extensions of the fuselage and relocation of the doors, can I publish the model or I'll be just for me? At which moment I can say that is a totally new model?

You can modify or repaint the kit as long as it is for your own personal use. You need the permission of the designer to publish the modified kit. If you get the proper authorization to release it, then you can. When it is a totally new model. Regards.

Thanks. The size is 32.42cm length, 22.86cm width. The wings near the pencil, over the book in the second picture up here are at right scale

1/144 is far from being "tiny". It is the same size as Revell and Airfix versions of the 727
|

Rubenandres77, don't worry.
This weekend I continued to assemble the "beta test" of the 727-200adv. First impressions: I like it. It's easy to assemble and has some details (like the holes inside the wing root) that help the modeler. But, there are details like the flaps actuators that aren't represented. My dream is to assemble a 727 with the flaps and spoilers open. So, I'll rework this model to include wing and tail reinforcements, flap fairings, and detached flaps and spoilers parts. Of course, the landing gear pits will be made too. Anyway, for now the white model is going well. In the last picture, I glued the fuselage extensions that are the easier difference between the -200 and -200 versions. I really recomend it

Well, I still love this plane, and I like this paper model. The "extensions" of the fuselage had a good fit. The -200 has two front door, the -100 has only one, so I must remake the B part.
The wing glove was hard to do, but, as I'm planning to do the landing gear pits, I'll surelly remade it. The b/n test model has the fuselage and the tail finished, just remaining the three engines. I recomend to assemble the cockpit and nose section apart and, once completed, join it to the rest of the fuselage. The vertical tail goes inside the 6 part, so be carefull. My redesign is advancing, I've already separated the flaps and the spoilers and have a good idea of the rest of the parts I'm going to include.

Looks great. The triple slotted flaps will be a real bear to make. Good luck.

This weekend won't have pictures, because I've been finishing the conversion of the original paper model in a black and white set.
Now, there will come the changes to the landing gear and the wings. The first repainted -200 model will be the one with Iberia colors, but there will be a lot of venezuelan ones to follow. The first one will be this 727-114 in the colors of Aserca. The venezuelan 727 planes used to be all slighty different each from another, some with metal engines, some with white ones, some with the logo surrounder with a line, some without it. This one will have it's own thread, starting problably next weekend. I'm including the "coversion kit" of the original -100 model to the -200 version: Does somebody know how to obtain the permision to publish the black and white and repainted models?. Is the original modeler still alive and the company still active? I'm writing that because I have not problem to make my own repaints, but I would love that there were a lot of 727 models at 1/72 scale
