My W&P (Adds On and Recolors) to S&P Planes
My good friend and countryman Wireandpaper has made several interesting recolors and designed additions to Bruno´s model planes. I have buit some of them, either for pleasure or as a test build. So, don´t let me boring you and go to the facts: The first one is the US Marines´Douglas R3D-2 in a beautiful blue livery. Although very few were constructed, this plane has no less than five different schemes. I plan to build one in a span of a week. It should be mentioned that all the planes that will appear here are in Bruno´s thread. Regards,Tony. |

This model generated so much attention I'm surprised none of the designers made proper model of it at least in 1/100 if not in 1/48-50 scale.IMHO it's much more interesting subject than yet another Me-109 or Spitfire. Then again they design what people buy.

Chanfle/OMG
I am so happy to see that someone is doing one of my humble recolors of Master Bruno. Looking forward for the others. I have been trying to build some of them. In particular the Royal Flight BEa-146 and the A-90 Orlyonok What-if Boarder Guards. Hopefully this year I will complete them along whit the straight from the printer Belfast and Beaver. ps: The beauty of S&P designs is that you may find the obscure DC-5, the mighty Mustang, its reincarnation as a Turbo Mustang, yet another 109 or the Buchon, or the lattes string of trainers/light attack planes. |

Good luck with this Tony.
The pre-war USN one by Cafe is on my to-do soon list. And don't forget PacificWind's neat 1/100 3-tone camo Marines R3D-2 is still in the downloads section on this site.

No.1 Douglas R3D-2
The WIP of the R3D-2, struggling with the wings for appropiate diehdral. Now it starts to see like an airplane. I enjoy very much this building, gave me fun and relaxation. Next is doing the landing gear. Tony. |

It looks very good Tony, in the 1/100 that Kacper repinto the rings of the fuselage gave me some work, some slight differences in diameter but annoying. Did you have the same inconvenience?

No.1 Douglas R3D-2
The R3D-2 is finished, I used 90 gr/m2 Opalina Paper and the scale is 1/150. And yes, I have some issues with the fuselage so I reduce two pieces at 2% and the fit goes then very well. As mentioned before I have fun building it. The next one in this series is an Australian one. Rata will be very happy. |
