My old models

At the beginning of 2003 I went back to building paper models after a very long break.

Some of the models are original on scale 1:33 and the small models are models that I re-designed on a 1:50 scale.

Since I do not have much room in my house, I decided to give them as a gift to the Division/Department at the base where I served in the past.
I gave them together with all the glass display boxes ..... and they cost more than the models themselves.
I served at the air force base for 25 years.

As you will notice, the models are without a transparent canopy .... On these days I still built models with a regular canopy, because I did not have the knowledge and the tools to create transparent canopies.

YOAV

And instead of talking a lot .... here are some pictures.

F-4E of Hobby Models...that i did to him weathering.
I also fixed his nose, canopy, cannon and other things.

the big one KFIR C2 of Hobby Model....An inaccurate model that I had to make a lot of corrections during the building.
the little one is KFIR C1 of IAF magazine, Which I improved and repainted..

MIRAGE C3
the big one is from Geli and the little one is Wilhelm Shavhaner.

MUSTANG of JSC 1:24 SCALE

SPITFIRE of JSC 1:24 scale

MESERSMIT of JSC 1:24 scale

the models in the study room at my Division/Department.
I also drew the two pictures on the left and right side of the wall.

And here are the models on scale 1:30 that I designed and re-designed and are in the department where I served.
you can see the VAUTOUR, F-4E, OURAGAN, SUPER MYSTERE, KFIR C2 and MIRAGE C3

Very nice Yoav.

It is especially great to see models get a good home where they will be looked at and admired.

I always try to do this with any large or complex models I make - I often try to a find a home for them before I start!

Very nice models and displays.

Indeed finding an appropriate home is not easy. Many of my models ended up destroyed by small kids or crushed underneath the piles of other models in my cupboard. To be honest, I prefer them to be destroyed by kids than just by other models. At least the kids have fun, while gravity just does its work .

Very nice displays. When I was in school doing competition shooting I visited one of army bases with its own little museum. One of the displays were models made by solders years back. Some paper and plastic but mostly wood+ metal parts.Your displays reminded me of those.Thank you.

Yoav, you design and build fantastic aircraft and it is great to see them in a location where you served. Very fitting. Thank you for your service to your country, it is the highest calling around and the toughest. It is for the rest of us to ensure our military people have the very best support and equipment we can get them. I bet folk at that base get a lot out of seeing your airframes on display.

The models all look great, and are really at home in that environment.
