Exclamation Main gear struts

I decided not to use the kit's parts as it looked too complicated for the needed task. Instead, I used a paper clip, bent and cut to length as a core and then wrapped thin paper around at the straight sections.

struts will be glued to the support here

struts and wheels glued on ( use super glue for this task ).

Notice that the struts have multiple bends in order to accommodate the gear and wheel position in the wing and the belly.

Exclamation Nose gear

again, I chose not to use the kit parts ( except the fork ) because, the parts were too small and way too complicated for such a simple model.

paper clip core with thin paper wrapping and some minimal detailing.

Exclamation gear doors

The main doors have a curvature to conform with the rounded belly.

Next, I have to make a vacuformed canopy. That will be done for all three Yaks I am building concurrently.

Exclamation Wing fences

This Yak 30 has two wing fences on top of each wing. Similar to the Mig-15, 17.

This feature was added after the Yak 25 which is a straight wing version and does not have fences.

Fully agree with Yoav. Preparing landing gears is a tedious job, and to find the right stability and strength of the struts can be time consuming and a matter of trial and error. Experience counts. Great work, Isaac!

Issac,
At the beginning you said: " It is an average kit of relatively simple",
but you turned this kit to very proffesinal work , nice model.

The fences fit the wing skin nicely, Isaac! Did you have to make any adjustments?
