Should be simple enough to print a white version of the cowling rings and use those inside the cowl.

That's a good idea.

Here's the mostly finished first engine pod with the fan centre cones added. After previous discussion with Ray I painted the intake inners which is much better than leaving them white.
I've left glueing the rear end of the centre joiner till I construct and check out the shape of the wing-mount pylons.

Good looking pods Garry.

However, on USAF aircraft, the intakes are white, to make it easier to spot damage,
such as a bird strike to the engine.

This build is coming along very well. Garry and his little crew locked in his basement are really doing a great job with this monster.

The engine pod looks great with the inside coloured, I can't see the joiner strips.

Roger that Ray. I only had sketchy front view photos of G and early H BUFFS so had to use guesswork so thanks again for clarification.

Final drafts of completed recolours have been submitted to Nobi. I'll continue with this test build while he prepares the model for publication so hopefully everything will dovetail nicely and won't be too long before model is available.

Well, it seems there is always going to be something to prove me wrong.
In fighters, the intake is white. From what I can find, the B-52 does indeed
have the gray intakes.

So you are correct!

Good to know when I get around to it.

No worries. The number of times over the years I've just finished a model in certain colours and what seems like within minutes I discover a photo or info (that for some reason never showed itself while building the stoopid model) that prove I did it wrong. Aaaargh!

Awesome build as always. Garry also send me all of his recolor pages to me for my release. I will release kit ASAP after I finish doing a cover page.
