Paper modelling is no different to any other modelling media: you end up doing and sticking with whatever works for you. But I always keep an open mind on this because more often as not along the way someone will give you a technique that makes that next model better than the last.
Now with all that fatherly advice out of the way all newbies should remember the golden rule: START SMALL. It's becoming more and more apparent as this build progresses that Nobi has given us one hell of a well designed piece of work. But it is NOT a beginners model. Buy it by all means and buy it now- designers need our support- but if you're a relatively newcomer buy it, admire it, dream about it but put it away till you've got a bunch of smaller models under your belt.

If ever there was an aircraft that has truly achieved 'legend' status it has to be the B-52. Such a large airframe to be still going strong and STILL IN SERVICE is nothing short of incredible.

Engines on at last! Apologies for long time between posts- having never built a monster like this before I totally underestimated the time input required. Each engine pod was a stand alone model in itself but as I've pointed out before it's purely the size and not any design quality issues.
Some pics attached re the landing gear: they pretty much speak for themselves and just planning a practical approach and taking your time will see success. I thought it may be wise to reinforce the outrigger wheels with some wire and I'm glad I did.
Next post will be the completed article.

Well, here she is. Extremely happy with the end result with this in both the repaint and the build. Nobi truly is a genius designer. He's really captured the shapes, feel and 'sit' of the B-52. A big job for sure; but stick with it and the builder is truly rewarded. Only problem is I have no idea where I'm going to put it.....
As I was finishing this one I had a little visitor (last pic) to my downstairs modelling den. I think maybe this Leaf Tail Gecko was less interested in the model than it was in the little bugs flying around.
