Aaron Murphy's Tupolev Tu-114
This is another of Aaron's splendid LARGE airliners. One of several I built last year, taking a few snaps along the way, but not taking the time to post. Now I can catch up.
As usual, the fit and markings were just right, and the build was a pleasure. I did go wheels up, this timed. The trickiest part was the long engine nacellses and the exhausts of the turboprops underneath them. In the end they went together just as you would want them to. Here are a few of the process pictures.

And some pictures of the finished model. Now the challenge is to find the airspace to hang it up in.

Judging by videos in YT it was big airliner. No wonder-its parent is Tu-95 Bear.
Beautiful build.I would make something like this if I had enough room to store it.As airliners go it's definitely an eye catcher just like Tu-104. |

Great job!
I've read stories about Khrushchev visit in Washington. He had Tu-114 as his official plane. When they landed on the airport it turned out that Americans didn't have stairs that would be high enough to reach the Tupolev's doors. That plane was really huge.
