Vacuforming the canopy

The vacuforming will produce canopies common to the Yak 19, 25 and the 30. The only difference is that the Yak 25 and the 30 have a wider fuselage, but this canopy will still fit them as well.

Here is the full article on the vacuforming process
http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/670282-post40.html

and the canopy as vacuformed

Cool Canopy on

The canopy frame of the Yak 25 is a bit different, but very similar to the Yak 19.

Here it is installed.

Cool Status pics

At this point the Yak 25 model is 99% complete and I can stop here. There are addition tip tanks, but those will be built a bit later.

For now here is the model

You probably recognize the second use of the Yak 25 designation which is a 2 engine mid swept wing aircraft

The Soviets were notorious in reusing the same designations for different jets.

There were 2 different planes with the Yak-25 designation. This is the first one from 1947.

It's not the only example of that sort of thing. See also the Su-9 and Su-11 from 1946-1947 which had a configuration similar to the Me-262 or Nakajima Kikka. They're no Fishpots.

That's a great build Isaac!

Isaac,

This is another fantastic build. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 5, how would you rate this kit (apart from the vacuforming)?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary

I would say 2-3 in the difficulty range.

Thank you Isaac.

I really do love these early Soviet jets, they are magnificent. You did another amazing job. Thank you for all of the detailed photos and explanations.
