Cool Tip tanks

This prototype flew with wing tip fuel tanks at times and here they are.

They do have the dreaded petal design on the forward part. I was thinking of making the tanks out of wood, but did not have the material, so I stayed with the paper version

I attached a small metal pin under the wing tip. It will position and support the tanks.

attached. Notice there is a left and a right side tank ( small triangle faces outside )

This was a relatively simple and easy model build. It was enjoyable as well. My Thanks to MaksArt!

If in the future, someone repaints it and adds more realistic rendering, I would love to build it as well.

I would also love to see some of the other early Yak jets.....

Magnificent work Isaac. Both this and the others look fabulous. And the WIP are invaluable guides to help us improve and learn. Thank you very much!

Exclamation Yak 25 and Dassault Ouragan comparisons

Some of you noted similarities of the Yak aircraft to other jets. Yes there is a similarity in layout, however, the Yak 25 and later the Yak 30 were substantially smaller and were not really a viable fighting machine due to their limited load carrying capabilities.

Here is a photo comparison of the Yak 25 and the Dassault Ouragan. Both are in 1/33 scale and demonstrate clearly the size differences.

Excellent model.I have Nobi Yak-23 waiting its turn and old Kancho model of the same somewhere.I should build one of them...

This is the first and only Russian plane I see with( tactical?) number on undersurface of a wing.

btw-I likely have Modelik Yak-23 somewhere which I will never build-If I can find it you can build it.It's far to complex for me.

I have not seen NOBI version of the Yak 23. Do you have a link to it on his site?

I did build the Modelik Yak 23.

However, I hated the silver paper. It was a good kit though. I need one repainted with Soviet stars to add to my Yak collection. The Modelik version has Polish markings. I would build it again if there is a repainted version though.

Here are the Yak 15, 17, 17W and 23 I built in the past.

For some reason Nobi doesn't have all of his models for sale on current site.PM or email him.I'm sure he still did some models I'm not aware of and of interest to me.

Yak 15,17 and 17W-Modelik designed those?

I first need to see what quality is this model. If you have it can you take a photo of the fuselage page?

The other Yaks I built are all by Modelik
