Yak-25 (first gen) MaksArt in 1/33
My next Yakovlev jet build is the Yak-25 first generation ( the Soviets were re using the designation a few times ).
This is another of MaksArt design in which the Yak-19, 25 and -30 are all similar in construction and in reality the actual planes are advances in design in that order. This model was mostly built while I was on the road in Florida where I also built the Yak-19 here is that thread Yak-19 MaksArt kit and here is the Yak 30 build Yakovlev Yak 30-MaksArt The Yak-25 information may be obtained here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakovlev_Yak-25_(1947). The kit
The kit layout is the same as the previous Yak-19 and Yak-30 designs. Plain parts that are computer derived with minimal coloring other then the tactical numbers and the worn out look red stars. The original plane was bare metal; the kit renders it in light grey color.
The instructions are graphical and provide good information as to the parts location and assembly. I would say as the other MaksArt kits that it is of average complexity and can be built by anyone with 10 or 20 models built before. Here is the kit and graphics Isaac

Fuselage parts
Here are the parts. All are circular cross sections.
The graphics is basic. The glue tabs are good, however as usual for this designer, the axial tabs are not provided, but are easy to produce since they are all simple straight sections. Isaac

Aft fuselage
The design of the fuselage lends itself into building the aft, forward a dn center sections and then later joining all three.
Here is the aft section with the engine exhaust. I lined up the panel lines and the top vertical fin locations instead of the lower glue tabs. There was some variation with the section joining. Isaac

Simple Soviet design but nevertheless an elegant plane. Looking good Isaac!

Center fuselage
Here is the internal framing and structure for the center section.
Here are the parts with the landing gear cut out insert the frame, but do not glue it. It needs to float until the wings re mated later on. ready to mate to the rear and glued Isaac

Looks good. I like the looks of this version better than the modern one - I think because I am a sucker for wingtip tanks.

Forward fuselage
Similar rounded construction
more nose parts cockpit tub add another aft section to close off the cockpit opening add the nose gear housing and ready to insert the cockpit from behind sliding it forward to mate with the opening cockpit is inserted and glued add nose weight and glue it under the cockpit add one last section to the fuselage Isaac

Quote:
and theoretically served a good aerodynamically purpose. However, as far as fighter maneuverability and structurally loading the wings, ( and symmetrical separation when you jettison them ) they were terrible and were eliminated from further designs as aircraft progressed. I think the F-104 was one of the last fighters to use tip tanks. Better to keep heavy objects close to the center if you can. Thanks Isaac
