Pilsworth Avro Canada C102 Jetliner

Another of last year's builds. (I am into oddball airliners) This design was completed just a few days after the DH Comet that took the honor of being the first jet-propelled airliner. So this was the second. It never had the teething problems of the Comet, and would have been an interesting alternative. Gary Pilsworth has designed a very nice model of it (in thedownload files on this Forum). It goes together well, and no questions arose during the build.

Here are some pictures taken during the process.

And here are a few pictures of the final model. I chose to do this gear up. the main landing gear retract up between the two engines in the wing pods - a door there seals the well.

Simple but satisfying model. Thanks to master designer Pilsworth.

Nice build of a really interesting aircraft. You're doing a great job.

I was told some of the Avro buildings from Jetliner days still stand in Malton.

Good model-thank you for pictures.

Interesting airplane, a new one to me. Unique structure to the paired engine pods.

Ah, playing in Google found that British Pathe has a YouTube channel with some of their old newsreel footage. Is one for this airliner, https://youtu.be/49ZMUBWLcPs Even has brief clips of gear retraction tests and the cockpit interior.

Another great model of a less-well-known airliner, Rob.
