Continue on Mustang, now we will assemble a canopy. Part 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 is parts for canopy. Add strip into and assemble like attach picture.

A little tip for canopy section. You need to assemble part 21 - 24 then install it into fuselage. Add part 25 later after glue dry.

I dont have a time much on this week. Build will extremely slow but I will try to update this build

Time for an exhaust pipe, part 26 and 27. Cut it out and shape like attach picture. Then glue part A+, B+, C+ and D+ into thick cardboard. Those parts is a wing's internal spar.

Wait for glue dry.

Terrific build "report", Nobi. You're doing a great job, for sure.

It may be the angle in your pictures, but does the shape of the side windscreens look a tad too long (droopy)?

This will be one outstanding Mustang!

I assembled the vertical stabilizer and rudder today. I used Caran d’Ache Neocolor II water-soluble wax crayons – 7500.075 Indian Red and 7500.039 Olive Brown - for edge coloring and burnished the edges of the surfaces to provide the necessary compound curvature.

I wasn’t able to do more because my USAWC Pacific War Strategy on-line elective began today and I spent much of the day communicating with my students. I hope to at least get the horizontal stabilizer completed tomorrow.

Nobi – Am I correct that we skipped parts 12 and 13 for now?

Thank you very much for your information, Gene. side windscreen is too long as you said. Maybe I can reduce that windscreen in part layout a little bit. :-)

Humble acolyte has completed the horizontal tail surfaces and fairings (Parts 17, 18, 19, and 20), burnishing a reverse curve into the main fairings before attaching them.

I had hoped to accomplish more today, but spent most of the day either in class or communicating with students about essay topics (today, the Germany First decision, the Japanese decisions that led to the Battle of Midway and the occupation of Kiska and Attu, and the U.S. decision to bypass Japanese forces at Hansa Bay and Wewak and to land at Hollandia and Aitape).

It is my plan to complete the canopy and exhaust assemblies tomorrow morning and thus catch up with Nobi.

Joe and Sergio – Many thanks for the encouraging comments.

Garry – Thanks for the advice on wing construction. I will take advantage of your instruction on this and future wing assemblies.

I am not happy with my craftsmanship on the canopy, but will press on regardless.

Now I am caught up with Nobi’s instructions and await the next step.

Question, Nobi: Should the underside of the horizontal stabilizer fairings be natural metal instead of olive drab? It looks that way in a wartime photograph of the aircraft (source of image: https://www.cebudanderson.com/357profilehhhdtwotone.htm)

Your craftsmanship looks absolutely great! But Nobi has indicated that he may revise the windscreen to lessen the "droop" of the side panes.

Note on this attachment: A) position of the bottom of the side pane to the bottom of the Canopy Frame; B) width of the Canopy Frame; and C) bottom of Canopy Frame in relation to the panel line just below it.
