Thanks Dan and Mor

The cockpit internal skin parts have their fair share of details, including the side sections of the instrument panel. As you have guessed, they are printed on the back cover…

It looks like the fit is good, a good omen for the outer skin.

Those wonderful details, such a pity that by closing the cockpit they won't be that visible anymore. Luckily, you as builder, know that they are there, and we are your witnesses. I see the Spitfire is there as well.

There's nothing from plastic that can't be build from paper .

Cheers,
Erik

Thanks for the comments, friends

@ Fred - the fit was fine up to this point. Skinning was problematic, as stated below.
@ Erik - Yes, some details will be definitively hidden. That's a good reason to take construction shots. Sometimes, I wonder if leaving an open panel would be useful. Leaving the canopy open makes a difference on the pictures but not so much if you have the model on your hands. At least on the Ki-84, where I didn't glue the movable part of the canopy.

Skinning the middle fuselage was rather frustrating. The end result doesn’t (hopefully) look too bad but the fact is that the parts didn’t cover everything. Gaps remained between the upper and lower skin assemblies. I glued colored paper strips over the inside skin parts, so that the gaps got somewhat disguised. On the “plus” side, the outer skin openings for the fuselage gun fairings and the landing gear fittings aligned properly to the inner skin and structure parts.

Well Ricardo, don't worry too much about it. At least on the pictures the corrections are hardly visible, and what your audience doesn't know they won't notice. Sometimes imperfections can be concealed very effectively by adding some weathering to the skins. In any case, to me up so far it looks more than perfect!

Regards,
Erik

@ Erik - I always try not to worry when things don't go well. Some problems somehow fade out this way

The fabric covered rear fuselage is faceted. The skin fold lines are marked just outside the part’s boundaries. So, the parts should be folded made before cutting. There is an emplacement for an arrester hook but no hook. I guess that it was not used on this particular plane.

Too late of course, but I remember when I built this plane years ago I felt so sorry to close the cockpit that I made a hatch, so be able to see the interieur.
You can also see that I was not half as good as you are :-)
