It is a great pleasure to see your superb craftsmanship, especially with such a good-looking airplane. I have spent the last hour Shangri-la-ing through this fascinating and visually appealing thread.

Thank you very much for the comments, friends. You know how much I appreciate your remarks
@YankeeBoy - I'd be interested in a silver Gladiator, too. Halinsky, lately, has released much more new liveries with minor changes to previous kits than new subjects. Maybe they do the same with a Gladiator, some day... As always, I used the canopy sold separately. It fits well and is very transparent. |

Canopy looks great...and all that marvelous cockpit detail is visible!

Thanks, YankeeBoy and Glen
Assembling the lower wing was a piece of cake. The upper wing was much harder, as it links to the lower wing and to the fuselage through 8 individual struts. All the struts are set at an angle, both longitudinal and transverse. The kit has templates to fix the relative positions but I opted for a Lego jig. Once the glue sets, the assembly is quite stable. |

Those wings look good and true to me. Nothing but finishing touches now.
Added thought - maybe too late to use on this model but still worth a look for rigging early aircraft - Bob's Buckles. He makes eyelets and cut tube that are ideal for rigging WW1 and interwar aircraft. They can be done yourself but his are uniform in size and quality (something I could not achieve with my home-made efforts.)

Wonderful work Ricardo, canopy and wings are impeccable. I have heard of a material called EZ Line, that might be useful for rigging. Don't have experience with it but I found it on a paper modeling site.

Thanks for the tips about rigging I confess to be very lazy regarding this subject. What you can see in the pictures is ordinary sewing thread, slightly elastic.
The other pictures show the remaining details. |
